Yaksha-A beautiful coming of age tale that encapsulates a melange of themes -from a contemporary story line of a boy trying to fit in, to the past glory of a dying tradition, guided by subtle yet strong support from family and elders to finally finding your own destiny, all through interwoven with informative aspects of one of most vibrant dance-drama forms of Karnataka.....truly makes you go "Aha!" with delight!”

I received 'Yaksha' with a handwritten note from the author herself! This was the first time that I received such a wonderful letter and it was an absolute delight to read the book, which is about the Yakshagana theater form and how a schoolboy revives it an unexpected way! I've enclosed the note. My daughter loved it. Thank you Tanu Shree Singh for writing about it last week and for drawing attention to such diverse voices in children's literature!

A lovely gift for kids! I have ordered four of these "I Wish I Were" books for my son and his cousins. There are couple of things that I like about these books. - The graphics and colours. They are very interesting for a young kid. - The activity box. It makes the stories a lot more real for the kids. - Personalisation.

My 3.5 year old was so excited to get the box of goodies from Bookosmia which included the book "I wish I were review", a coloring book and a jigsaw puzzle. I simply loved the concept of personalizing books for children. My girl feels like a proud protagonist every time I read her the book.

Have been super impressed with the platform that you have created and the kind of feedback shared today with kids, it shows lot of your passion and commitment in this area and to give platform to kids at early age and grow their lives around reading and writing.
May you and your platform grow leaps and bounds!

If you are looking for a quick read to introduce your child (and yourself) to Yakshagana, a dance and drama form of Karnataka, this is it. Honestly, I had assumed it would be drab but the facts about dance are mixed with our boy Yaksha's story in just the right doses! Thanks for sending this, Archana Mohan! I had no idea Yakshagana existed! The story of its origin, sharing of space by women and men - it is all very fascinating.
Tanu Shree Singh9 October, 2019
This is one of the best platforms for the young minds to express their thoughts and nurture their writing skills. And having a kid's work published gives such a lovely feeling for the parents and encouragement for the kids. Thank you Harini and the entire team of Bookosmia for this great initiative, especially in these difficult times. What better way to keep the kids busy and also instil hope in them. Looking forward to your future projects and wish you all the best in all your endeavours.

Toka box says "We loved this children's book on the Yakshagana theater form."
Yaksha is a beautiful little picture book about a boy who is bullied in school for being different and who inadvertently revives a traditional Indian theater form! Read this beautiful review by Toka Box, a monthly subscription box that carefully curates a children's book representative of South Asians every month.

What an incredible concept !
I have to say tis has been a mind-blowing experience. First I just love the concept. It is so unique and kids love it. I gifted this book to my niece and she was over the moon. She loved having her momma read her name out of the book and seeing her photo on the book.

Yaksha- the superhero from our soil!
This book can be a stepping stone to bring the tradition and let the current generation know about, "Yakshagana." Beautiful is not only the word, I would say, this book breathes our tradition and connects us to the roots. Though a 6-10 age group, I feel even to a 4+ this book can be read because the pictures /illustrations will leave a mark in their mind....
