A couple of years ago, I had visited Switzerland with my parents, a place for all kinds of people- nature lovers, hikers, adventurists, among others.
Switzerland is a mountainous country with various cities and we had visited a few of them.
First, we arrived at Interlaken. Interlaken is a mid-size town in the centre of Switzerland and has many different areas- Nord, Sud, Ost, and West(north, south, east, and west respectively) which are directions in German. Swiss German is the language most spoken there.

We stayed at Interlaken Ost. It is the gateway to the best hikes, slopes, shops, and restaurants in the region.
There, we experienced the joy of living in a Swiss chalet. It had a personal kitchen, a huge front, and back lawn, a table tennis board, and had beautiful gardening. The house was internally heated and had beautiful interiors.
If one is keen to go on hikes and see the world from above, he can visit Grindelwald which is in Interlaken Sud*(Interlaken South). One of Switzerland’s chief mountaineering, summer, and winter resorts, Grindelwald village is the starting point for climbing the First which is reached by a chair lift of 3,720 ft in length. The valley possesses excellent pastures and fruit trees. One must try the cheese fondue there. People can buy wonderful souvenirs for themselves.
From Interlaken, one can also travel to Lucerne.Lucerne, a compact city in Switzerland, known for its preserved medieval architecture, sits amid snow-capped mountains on Lake Lucerne. The city of Lucerne is a popular stop for most people visiting Switzerland. The city is well known for its stunning medieval architecture and its stunning location on the edge of Lake Lucerne amid snow-capped mountains. A modern town today, it still has its quaint old-world charm.
When visiting Lucerne, one must take the mesmerizing boat ride on lake Lucerne. Lake Lucerne is a lake in central Switzerland and the fourth largest in the country. The view is magnificent. Migrating seagulls are often spotted here.
Lucerne is also known for its huge shopping streets and Swiss watches. In the chocolate factory which we visited, my friends and I made chocolate bars and decorated them. The factory was filled with the smells of chocolate. I even learnt about the history of chocolate and ate a lot of choco cubes.
From Lucerne, a day trip to Bern can be arranged. Bern is the capital of Switzerland. It is built around a crook in the Aare River. It traces its origins back to the 12th century, with medieval architecture preserved in the Altstadt (Old Town). In Bern, the shopping spree is much more mesmerizing. The cathedrals in Bern were also great.
Last but not the least, one can visit Mt Titlis. Titlis is a mountain of the Uri Alps, located on the border between the cantons of Obwalden and Bern. Mount Titlis is one of the highest mountain peaks that one can easily visit in Switzerland. Switzerland is also very popular among Indians as many of India’s blockbuster films were shot there. One is sure to get mesmerized by the beauty of these places.
