Whether you’re 7 or 77, yoga supports your body, mind, and the planet we all share. Yoga fosters mindfullness, accessibility and brings balance to everyday life.

What is International Yoga Day?

June 21st marks International Yoga Day, first proposed by PM Narendra Modi at the UN in 2014 and the UN General Assembly adopted it with 177 countries supporting it. It was first celebrated on June 21, 2015.

International Yoga Day promotes the ancient practice of yoga, which began over 5,000 years ago in India. The International Day of Yoga aims to raise awareness worldwide of the many benefits of practicing yoga.

June 21st is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere, known as the Summer Solstice. The Sun represents light, energy, and inner awareness, making this day the perfect time to celebrate yoga a practice rooted in balance and harmony. It symbolizes how yoga can lead to a longer, healthier, and happier life.

What is the theme for 2025?

Yoga for One Earth, One Health is the theme for 2025. It highlights how personal well-being and environmental health go hand in hand. Yoga strengthens our mind, body and health which helps us to nurture the mother earth. Yoga echoes the ethos of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, which means the world is one family.
