The Ice Cream Melted And So Did I I Poem By Shay

The Ice Cream Melted And So Did I I Poem By Shay

The Ice Cream Melted And So Did I

The sun is too hot, and nobody asked for this.

Flies are everywhere, and the fan makes weird noises.

My ice cream melted before I even took a bite.

The whole street smells like hot tar and dust.

Summer showed up uninvited and refuses to leave already.

Sweat on my neck before I even step outside.

The sun is too hot, and nobody asked for this.

The pool was fun for five minutes, then got boring.

Someone splashed water in my face, and I am upset.

Cold shower feels good for exactly thirty seconds, then stops.

The mango is overripe and attracting too many tiny ants.

My slippers are sticking to the ground while I walk.

The sun is too hot, and nobody asked for this.

The electricity went out again, and I nearly lost everything.

Group plan got cancelled, and honestly, I am a little relieved.

Evening comes, and the mosquitoes treat me like a buffet.

I put on bug spray and somehow still get bitten.

Friends want to go out, but the heat says no.

The sun is too hot, and nobody asked for this.

We end up sitting inside, eating chips and doing nothing.

Summer is finally ending, and I feel zero sadness about it.

The air gets cooler, and my mood gets much better.

I pack away my sandals with absolutely no emotional attachment.

Good riddance to the sweat and the flies and the heat.

The sun is too hot, and nobody asked for this.
