The fight and friendship between numbers

“Hey, you tiny numbers,” called 9.

The ones who were called ‘tiny’ ignored and went away. The numbers 0,1,2,3,4 and 5 were always abused by the numbers 6, 7, 8 and 9 for being little. They  were now used to those abusive words thrown at them. The ones who  suffered more were the numbers 0 and 1 because they were the smallest.  They always used to complain to God about it. They just wanted to take  revenge of the insult they were given.

One day, when 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 were going somewhere, 8 called, “Hi, my little babies.” This time 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 were just in a mood to retort back. Then 4 started, “Who are you to call us babies!”

“Oh! Now you don’t even understand whom we are to call you babies?” said 7.
“Yeah, they are babies, right? So, how will they understand us,” said 8.
“Yes, we may be smaller than you, but you all owe us much. You are nothing without us,” interrupted 2.

“Whenever people are asked to factorize you, we are the ones who represent  you. I multiply myself four times to be you, my dear 8. My friend 3 multiplies herself three times to represent 9. Please don’t insult us when you owe us a lot.”

“Children can multiply us 4-6 times orally when asked to do so and that is why they like us more. But, which child can multiply you immediately 4-6 times orally? In this way, we are more  friendly to children. And we don’t even want  you as friends as there are a lot of human friends we have got, but I guess you don’t have many,” said 1 angrily.

“Whenever I join myself after you, you all become much bigger than what you are now. I am not asking for a place before you because then, I will be useless. I am just asking for a place after you. But still, why don’t you show us a little respect?” said 0.

All of them(6, 7, 8 and 9) realized their mistake. “We are really very, very sorry.  We actually didn’t realize your hard work. We promise you that from now, we  will never ever fight or abuse you. Lets now be friends and enjoy,” said 9.

All of them are now friends and work together with all their strength and lived happily….
