T20 World cup : India versus Pakistan bowl-out match in 2007
I am going to tell you about a glorious moment in the T20 World Cup, the India -Pakistan bowl out match in Durban, South Africa on September 14, 2007.
India made 141 runs in 20 overs and on the last ball, Misbah Ul Haq gave a catch to Sreesanth making it a tie. According to the rules, this meant the match would be settled by a football-style bowl out.
Both the teams had six balls. They had to bowl without batters and hit the wicket. It was a nail-biting scene, everyone was jittery.
India, through Virender Sehwag started and hit the stumps. Pakistan’s Yasir Arafat bowled but he did not hit the stump. Going forward, Harbhajan Singh and Robin Uthappa both hit but the other Pakistani bowlers did not! India won 3-0 in one of the most thrilling matches.
