Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi popularly known as Mahatma Gandhi or Bapu is the ‘ Father of India ‘ and one of the most important freedom fighters who played a big role in freeing our country from the Britishers.

He was born on October 2, 1869 in Porbandar, Gujarat. He has taught us many things like :

● Always speak the truth.
● Respect your elders.
● Always be non-violent.
● Have faith in yourself.

Mahatma Gandhi became a lawyer after graduation and worked in South Africa.

One day, Gandhiji booked a seat in the first-class  compartment of a train. The train checker ordered him to move to the third-class compartment following racial segregation policies. He decided to protest this through non-violent ways.

This incident is what sowed the seed of Satyagraha in him and helped him move towards his greater goal of standing up for marginalised communities.
