Leela’s Love For Animals

Once upon a time, in the outskirts of the woods there was a girl named Leela. Her father was a hunter who would hunt animals for their meat, skin and ivory to make a living. Leela would accompany her father for hunting. Her father wanted her to become a hunter just like him. However, Leela hated to witness the killing of animals.

They went to a nearby stream where a deer and its fawn were sitting. The hunter aimed at the deer and killed it. Leela felt terrible for the fawn who was sitting scared. She went away with her father. After some time she came back hoping that the fawn was there. Indeed, it was there sitting in the same spot.

Leela took it in her arms and went home. She pleaded with her parents to keep it as a pet. She told her father that she would feel terrible if she got separated from her mother just like the fawn. She told her father to stop hunting and to do a better job to make a living.
