The Missing Roses

“Where are my roses?” Pradeep cried from his little garden. When his parents and brother came to see what had happened, they saw that he was squatting on the soil, tears rolling from his eyes to his red cheeks. When his mother asked what had happened, he told his mother that somebody had stolen his beautiful and fresh roses. After knowing the reason, his father and brother started laughing recklessly.

“Are you crying over those flowers?” his brother said, controlling his laugh. “They are cheap and can be found easily,” he added.

Pradeep stood up and wiped his tears with his sleeves.

“Yes, because they are my favourite”

He said and stared wistfully at those empty bushes.

His family has a garden in his courtyard, which mostly belongs to Pradeep. He was very amazed at how anyone could steal the roses, even if there were fences of bamboo and a small gate. He started investing in every corner of his house, but he found no clue.

He was tired and went to his bed. When he put his body on the soft mattress, he heard some sound. When he looked out from his window, he found on the green grass, a few petals of roses were scattered.

He rushed towards the place and found that those petals belonged to pradeep’s roses.

“My rose!” He exclaimed while smelling it. When he looked up, he saw a squirrel and his children were playing with the red rose.

Then his father came and saw Pradeep gazing at the tree. He then came to know about the mystery of the missing roses.

“Are you missing them?” He asked

“Whom?”

“The roses”

“A little bit,” he said and sighs.

“At least the roses are used by someone, and if some non living things will become the cause of the happiness for some living beings the it good”

He added

His father was happy on the kindness to his son.

“Let’s go to the market and I will get you some new seeds”

“Of whom?”

“For your roses”

Then they went to the nearest bazaar and the sunsets and the children of the squirrel fell asleep on the petals of Pradeep’s roses.
