We drew a map of lands unseen

A place that no living thing had been.

Beyond the walls of ice and fire,

We saw the one thing of our desire.

A city of a futuristic date,

And amidst the streets lay our faith.

The skyline changed at every breath

As it was a city that conquered death

The thing happened which we feared the most,

The city cleared and out came our host.

A portal opened and we couldn’t resist.

As we were searching for a world that doesn’t exist.

The host thought that we would fade,

But it was a prison we had made.

We stepped ahead with the map drawn,

We found the answer, but we were gone.

The answer lay at dreadful cost,

As all that was gained was now lost.

No one believed what we had foreseen

Many thought is was just a dream

While they ask of daily things

But in our heart the city rings.

Until our last breath we have sworn

That we will somehow go there once more.
