Food pageant
By Kriti Sowmyanarayan
Welcome! oh welcome to our little play,
Starring none but the four meals of the day.
First up is breakfast, the most important of all,
If you don’t eat it, you could faint or fall!
I am breakfast, the mightiest of all,
If you don’t eat me, it’s your downfall.
Next is the meal with a side of crunch.
Goodbye breakfast, hello lunch!
I am lunch, your midday meal,
I am incharge of how creative you feel!
Now comes the tiniest , yet tastiest of the pack.
Adios lunch, hola snack!
I am your snack, a form of repast,
Delicious in present, future or past!
Last, but not the least, I know I am right,
Now comes the dinner, the meal of the night.
I am dinner, the meal of the night,
You cannot eat me in broad daylight!
We, the four meals set the mood,
Just like the four letters that spell the word, “food”!
