World Came Alive With Sports

In 2024, the world came alive with sport.

It was a year packed with events; no dull moments to report.

Every game, every match, a thrill to ignite—

Let’s relive those memories with highlights!

The Paris Olympics, what a grand affair

Every victory was special, with joy filling the air 

From pole vault to water polo’

The US topped the medal count, as is well known.

The Euros and Copa America fuelled everyone with glee

Spain and Argentina played the best; everyone can agree

Every pass and goal brought cheers and praise,

But as a France fan, I was lost in a haze

On the tennis courts, the elite took their stand,

moments of pressure, the match in their hands.

Loud serves echo, long rallies and sweats

as each ball flies swiftly, like jets in the sets.

Cricket fields witnessed battles intense,

With sixes and fours, the thrill was immense.

Wickets fell, and the crowd roared loud.

India’s T20 victory made them so proud.

Basketball courts were full of magic

The players were crazy; their performance was dynamic

Slam dunks and 3-pointers filled the air

The Americans won the World Cup; it’s just their flair

Cyclists rode the fierce roads

Pedalling fast with the expectation of loads

The Tour de France, a race so grand,

The victor’s name forever will stand

Here’s to 2024, a year to behold,A reminder of what sports can truly unfold.

A celebration of skill, peace, and connection.
