Recently, I went to Amritsar. The city chosen by the 4th Sikh Guru to build ‘The Harmandir Sahib – The Golden Temple’. I had the privilege of experiencing an enchanting journey of faith, belief and sacrifice.
As you enter the temple, you experience a serene aura of spirituality where everyone is welcomed. There is prayer, Sewa, langar 24*7.
We visited the sacred grounds of Jallianwala Bagh which bears a black spot in our history and paid tribute to the fighters of our freedom. The city has a beautiful environment where tradition meets modernity.
It’s a foodie paradise and there are many dishes named after the city like Amritsari Naan, Kulcha.
We also visited the Indo-Pak border at Wagah and witnessed the flag lowering ceremony in the evening which evoked patriotism and a strong sense of unity and pride.
All in all, my time in Amritsar forged a deep-rooted memory and expanded my cultural, historical, and spiritual horizons.
