Time, Things and Responsibilities

Responsibilty

Time, Things and Responsibilities I Poems By Aadya, 11, Patna

Responsibility shines so bright,

Each new day with New delight.

In darkness brings light!

It’s a secret ingredient to our life.

It protects us from strife!.

Responsibility brings joy to each new day,

It keeps all our despair at bay,

Responsibility makes you work hard,

The result is sweet, like a tart.

Responsibility does not bring trouble

Instead makes praise double!

Tick Tock

Time, Things and Responsibilities I Poems By Aadya, 11, Patna

It waits for no man,

You can’t even keep it in a can!

Try as you might, it won’t stop

Even in a box, you can’t lock.

Tick tock, tick tock, it goes,

It won’t wait to hear your woes.

It could be your enemy he or she,

It could even be worse than Loki.

Time will always move,

You won’t even have time to groove.

But still, best you don’t wait,

By now, a whole minute it ate.

You get saved every minute earlier you wake.

Where Are You?

Time, Things and Responsibilities I Poems By Aadya, 11, Patna

Once I lost my shoe,

Now what do I do?

Once I lost my pen

I think what took it was a hen.

Once I lost my phone,

Yeah, my job is blown.

Once we lost the remote

Who will watch TV? We had to vote!

Oh, where is my stuff?

They all seem to bluff.

Aadya’s poetry collection features funny rhymes for kids, exploring time, lost things, and the joy of responsibility. Simple, playful, and full of wisdom, these short rhyming poems for kids are perfect for learning and laughter.

1.What are the poems about?

  • Tick Tock is about time — how it never waits, always moves forward, and reminds us to use it wisely.

  • Where Are You? is a playful piece about losing everyday items like shoes, pens, phones, and even the remote.

2. What style are the poems written in?

Both are written in a rhyming couplet style  where pairs of lines rhyme with each other. The tone is light, playful, and rhythmic.

3. What rhyme scheme do they use?

  • Tick Tock → Mostly AABB couplets
    Example:
It waits for no man (A)
You can’t even keep it in a can! (A)
Try as you might, it won’t stop. (B)
Even in a box, you can’t lock. (B)

  • Where Are You? → Also AABB couplets
    Example:
Once I lost my shoe (A)
Now what do I do? (A)
Once I lost my pen (B)
I think what took it was a hen. (B)

4. What makes them fun?

    • The humor in unexpected rhymes (pen–hen, remote–vote).

    • The rhythm makes them easy to read aloud, almost like nursery rhymes but with a witty twist.
