The Brave Sons Of Mother India I Poem by Mehr, 9, New Delhi

The Brave Sons Of Mother India

They leave home smiling,
with a vow that is promising.
Telling their parents who are mourning,
that don’t worry we’ll come home rejoicing.

The nights are cold, but they shine with light,
their hearts brave, thoughts bright.
While we sleep, they stay up all night,
ready to fight, if an enemy in sight.

They died, with cuts and bleeds,
but sowed the seeds,
that say pay a heed,
courage is what a soldier needs.

Where their soul rests,
flags fly high like Mt. Everest,
Telling them they were the best,
so, let’s pay them our gratitude and respect.

Jai Hind!
