Poem: A letter to lockdown
Dear lockdown, you aren’t so dear
But you protect us from virus
That is so clear.
It’s funny but
‘Don’t mingle always be single’
Has never been truer.
Home school teaching from my mum.
And living with my brother who is a pain in the bum!
I breathe in the silence and it fills me like a balloon.
Lockdown, you have changed us.
Made us go back to the old.
We thought we were playing indoor games
Instead we were learning lessons.
You may think you have locked us all
But you forget.
The sun is not in lockdown
Love is not in lockdown
Learning is not in lockdown
Relationships are not in lockdown.
Sure, we may be missing
Playing outside,
Our friends and teachers
Fresh air
But very soon you will come to an end.
