Parrot I Poem By Anaya Singhai

English Translation
Parrot
One, two, three, four—
I am a parrot, green and red.
Everyone calls me by the letter P,
“Popat Lala,” that’s what they said!
My beak is bright,
Red like a juicy tomato.
But I love to eat.
Green, yellow, and red chillies too!
I’m a friendly little parrot, my friend,
I mix with everyone with a smile.
Laughing and chatting happily,
Making friends all the while.
Say something—or say nothing—
Whatever you say, I record it all!
I’m a little repeat-parrot, you see,
I copy whatever you call!
Sunday has come,
It’s time for me to go out and play, my friends.
Let’s meet again next Saturday—
Don’t forget me till then!
