Old Leaf Bookstore| Review by Hiyan, 9, Bangalore

I love reading books and building my collection, but sometimes ordering online takes too long. I have to choose the books, inform my parents, and it can take a while to receive them. While I enjoy going to bookstores, the good ones are far from where I live.

One day, while driving through the HSR Layout area with my mom, we searched for a nearby bookstore on Google. We discovered one called ‘Old Leaf’ just a few kilometers away. Although we used Google Maps to find it, we were uncertain if it was real at one point because the map directed us through narrow lanes. Finally, we located the bookstore in one of the lanes of HSR Layout, and I was so happy.

Inside ‘Old Leaf,’ I was amazed by all the books. While I already had some books in mind, I also discovered many more that I liked. I sat in a corner and read a few of them. We were looking for specific books, and Mr. Ankit helped us find them. It was cool to see him know where every book was.

I spent about two hours there and bought a bunch of books. One cool thing was that you could return the books you bought after reading them and get other books at a discounted price.

‘Old Leaf’ is now my favorite place to buy books. We go there specifically to spend our weekend afternoons. Buying books online never gave me the happy feeling of touching the book and looking through the pages like it does at ‘Old Leaf.’
