I started jumping with joy when my mother told me that we were going to France. France has always been on my bucket list.My parents, younger sister, maternal uncle and I were going on this trip. We went during the Puja vacations in 2017.

We took a flight to Paris and stayed at Hotel 4etoiles Royal Garden, near Champs-Elysees.

The best thing about France is its vibrant art and architecture.

The Louvre, a famous art museum in Paris houses amazing artworks, some of them are also inspired by the Egyptian and Middle Eastern culture. French museums and art galleries have always attracted hoards of people.

Mona Lisa and Liberty Leading the People are a few of the paintings which have made France the center of the art world. Young, talented people can be seen on the streets doing a variety of art works to earn a living.

Gothic-architecture can be seen all around France. French architecture is known for its great shape, detailing and characteristic designs of the roof.

Arc de Triomphe is an example of Roman architecture. It has a variety of famous sculptures carved on it.

The distinctive features of French architecture on houses are that the tall second story windows are often arched at the top with steep hipped roofs and they look stately and formal.

This trip was enjoyable yet enlightening. I learned the various art forms practiced in France and the amazing style of architecture.

It also made me aware of French vocabulary like tableau means painting and toile means canvas. The word‘crayon’ is actually a French word. I am eagerly looking forward for the pandemic to end so that I could visit France again.
