Walter Elais Disney
Walter Elais Disney is a name recognized world-wide. He was known for his expert animations.
He was born on the 5th of December in 1901. He later moved from his home town of Chicago to Kansas City with his parents. It was during his prime in life when World War 1 began. He faked his age to join the American Red Cross.
Soon, along with a fellow animator, Ub Iwerks, he established a company. He went to Hollywood in 1923. Subsequently, he produced hundreds of comedic shorts aptly named ‘Alice Comedies’. These shorts produced great success. It is now remembered as the beginning of Walt Disney’s adventure in animation.
Beginning of Animated Films
In 1934 a new idea came to his mind. He began working on this idea. It was an animated cartoon which was the length of a feature film. Finally, he released the first one ‘Pinocchio’ in 1940. This marked the beginning of animated films.
In the next decade and a half he released many others, inspired by ‘Pinocchio’s success. Some of them are ‘Dumbo’ ‘Peter Pan’ and ‘Treasure Island’.
Disney Land : Theme Park
In 1955, he held the inaugural ceremony of a theme park, Disney Land, which is based on his characters.
A severe heart attack spelled his demise on December 15th, 1966.
The Walt Disney Company
His company, however, is still flourishing. The Walt Disney Company continues to honor his legacy and brings joy to children and adults alike.
His memory will be cherished by the world and his story shall continue to inspire the youth of today.
