Once in the village of Swarnanagar lived a rich merchant named Jugal. He used to sell corn, wheat, and rice. He was doing good in his business so, he decided to buy a new house with his money.
One day, Jugal woke up and noticed that his hair had grown a bit long. He went to the barber and told him to do a haircut. The barber did the haircut very nicely and Jugal was pleased with him. “I am pleased with you Haripant,” said Jugal. While saying so Jugal paid twice the usual price to Haripant.
When he reached home it was evening. Jugal felt like the beautiful day had turned into an evening in a matter of hours. When he took off his coat, he noticed that his money was missing. He felt sad and ashamed for losing his hard-earned money.
He thought that he might have left his wallet in Haripant’s barbershop or maybe he dropped his wallet on the way home. “Very well, I have lost my hard-earned money, I shall investigate tomorrow. Morning is wiser than evening,” Jugal said to himself.
In the morning he woke up, ate his breakfast, and got ready to investigate. But before that, he thought, Haripant might have stolen his money.
In the evening, Jugal called his friend and found out that Haripant was a well-trusted man and he couldn’t steal anybody’s money. After the talk, he went for a walk. When he came back it was night. He went to bed. At midnight Jugal’s wife, Laxmi woke up from hearing a strange sound. She saw a man climbing the wall. She was frightened.
In the morning Laxmi told Jugal about the man she saw that night. When he stared at the window, he saw something strange. He opened the window and found a glove.
Suddenly he got a brilliant idea. He went to a famous detective, Shekhar, and gave him the glove.
Shekhar took the glove to a forensic lab and found out that the fingerprint on the glove belonged to Nathu, the servant in the barbershop.
The police caught Nathu and put him in jail. Jugal got his money back.
Two months later, Jugal bought a new house. He and his wife lived there happily.
