Demon-Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba

Title: Demon Slayer.

Author: Koyoharu Gotouge.

Publisher and Year: Shueisha; 2016-2020.

Introduction:

This manga series belongs to the action-adventure and dark fantasy genre. I chose it because it was the first ever manga I read and also one of my favourite animes. It has a gripping story line which captivates readers.

Summary:

Set in Taisho-era Japan, Demon Slayer follows the journey of Tanjiro Kamado, a kind-hearted boy whose peaceful life is shattered when his family is slaughtered by demons. The only survivor is his sister Nezuko, who has been transformed into a demon.

Determined to protect Nezuko and avenge his family, Tanjiro joins the Demon Slayer Corps, a secret organization dedicated to eradicating demons. Under the guidance of the Hashiras, he trains in specialized breathing techniques and swordsmanship. Along the way, he forms close bonds with fellow demon slayers Zenitsu and Inosuke, each with unique strengths and breathing styles.

This story talks about the fight between good and evil. On one side the horrifying demons and one side the Demon Slayers

My Opinion:

In my opinion, this manga series is a must read! If you don’t like reading you can even watch the series. The best part of the manga was the Final Battle. We must appreciate the art and talent of the manga writers. The thing that impressed me the most is the lore behind all characters and especially demons. Some have an emotional backstory while some are focused on getting revenge.
