Celebration – An Exciting Easter Adventure
Annabeth’s Morning Rush
Annabeth was just waking up when her mom shouted from the hall, “You’re going to be late. You have 30 minutes to get ready.” Annabeth groggily got up, brushed her teeth, ate a banana, and had a shower all before 8:45. What a big achievement!
The Easter Celebration Begins
She went back to the hall, took her phone and a water bottle, and headed to the Easter celebration in the park. On the way, Annabeth heard her name and turned back to find her best friend Hazel running up behind her panting. Annabeth grinned and waved as Hazel caught up with her. They got to the park just in time for the celebration. Once the whistle was blown, Annabeth and Hazel picked up their baskets and started searching for eggs. They found one under a bench, one on the lowest branch of a tree, and then took a small break.
A Mysterious Egg and a Strange Portal
Suddenly, Hazel spotted an egg behind a bush and the girls ran to get it. When they crouched down, they noticed something weird—**a spinning portal made of buttercream and milk**. Annabeth, being naturally curious, tried to put her hand in, but Hazel, the more logical one, stopped her.
“Wait,” she said. “Not now.”
Before they understood what was happening, a strange force sucked them in. They felt like their stomachs were left behind as they plummeted through the swirl.
The Unexpected Journey to Ares’ Palace
They landed in what looked like a war palace. Scenes of battle covered the pillars, and chariot statues stood all around. Suddenly, six men appeared, led by a bulky, intimidating warrior.
“I’m the war god Ares. How dare you puny mortals enter my palace?” he roared.
“Guards, charge!”
Hazel grabbed Annabeth’s hand and sprinted toward a pillar. Without second thought, Hazel dove headfirst into it—and somehow, it worked.
Escape Back to the Park
They landed back in the park, breathless and stunned.
“We’re never doing that again,” they said together.
