An Alien in My Backyard

It was a really tiring day for Rahul. He had missed his bus early in the morning and his father had to drop him to school. During his lunch break, he looked in his bag and realized that his lunch box wasn’t there. Then he remembered that he had forgotten it in his father’s car. 

After lunch his,misery continued. It was his Maths class. When his teacher came, she looked at Rahul with a glance he could not understand. But later he found out. His parents had been called as he failed his Math’s test again. His parents were very angry at him.

 He went home and ate something to fill his stomach. He went to sleep early to remove the pain and misery he had dealt with in the morning. In the middle of the night, a deafening sound arose in his ears. He woke up in an instance and looked out of the window. There was a bright green light shining in his backyard.

  With curiosity, he grabbed his phone and took it out using his flashlight to see in the dark. He first went to his parent’s room and saw that they were still asleep. Initially scared to go outside, he gathered courage and stepped in his backyard.

  There he saw a weird machine crashed into the ground. Suddenly, a dark figure popped out from the machine. It was like a movie. A figure slowly creeping out of it. He was scared but curiously went towards it. He flashed his light on it and saw that it was a creature. Trying to hold his scream, he quickly backed up, ready to run if it got closer.

To his surprise, the creature spoke in English!  “Wait, don’t be scared. I come from the planet Alora. It’s a small planet millions of light years away from Earth.”

Still scared, Rahul asked, “W-why have you come here?” “A-are you going to h-hurt me?”

 “Don’t worry. I mean no harm to you. I just want you to help me find a way back home”, said the alien. Rahul had a devious plan in his mind. He could use the alien for his own benefits.

 Rahul said, “Sure, I will help but only if you help me. Anyways, my name is Rahul.”

   Rahul quickly told the alien to go to his room and hide under his bed while he would clear out the machine in the backyard.

   Rahul hid all of the parts in the attic where his mother rarely comes. He then went to his room and saw that the alien was scribbling on some piece of paper. Later Rahul saw that the alien was busy completing his Math’s homework.

The next day, Rahul was pretty confident about his Math’s test and readily submitted it to his teacher. His teacher, Ms. Hills was shocked to see that Rahul had actually done his homework. She graded his homework and almost fainted after seeing he got all the answers correct.

She called him up to her desk and said that she was happy he was improving in her subject. Rahul thanked the alien in his mind. Now, he would be able to not disappoint anyone with the help of the alien.

   In the afternoon, Rahul asked the alien to help him in his studies. The alien readily agreed to do it and started tutoring him. The alien found out about Rahul’s weak points in studies and started working on it.

You could see an improvement in Rahul. The alien helped him every day and soon Rahul got his report card. He passed with full marks in almost all subjects! The alien was doing his part of the deal but what about Rahul. He hadn’t even started working on the Alien’s spaceship. Rahul was taking complete advantage of the Alien.

   Late at night, while everyone was asleep. The alien was busy roaming the house to find something. He accidentally knocked a vase down which woke up Rahul’s parents. Rahul’s Mother woke up in an instance and screamed when she saw the alien. Rahul’s father, still snoring, didn’t wake up from the scream.

  Rahul woke up thinking he was in danger and went to his parents’ bedroom and screamed when he saw the alien was going towards his mother. It was confusing for his mother when she saw the alien speaking in English to Rahul.

   “Umm… I think I woke up your parents,” said the alien to Rahul.  Rahul’s mother shouted, “Rahul! Get This Creature Out Our House!!”

   Rahul explained to his mother that this alien was the reason he got good marks. He added, “We used to study every day and it’s because of him I am passing my exams with flying colors.

   The Alien said, “My name is Zeno and I’m from Planet Alora which is millions of light years away from Earth. He crashed into their backyard a week or two ago.” “My planet is filled with amazing landscapes and scenery just like Earth. But we don’t communicate with our mouths. We communicate telepathically,” Zeno added.

His mother, still in shock, went to sleep. She couldn’t sleep all night wondering if the alien would attack them. 

 The next morning, Rahul’s father got to know about the alien and was pretty chill about it. Even Rahul was shocked. A creature from space and you’re not even shocked!

Rahul’s father was an engineer and helped Zeno to build his spaceship again. After hours of hard work, they finally completed it. Rahul’s father decided that Zeno should leave this midnight to avoid unnecessary danger. Everyone agreed except Rahul. He felt at ease when Zeno used to tutor him and help him.

  Zeno said, “Don’t worry. Whenever you are afraid or nervous, just think about me in your mind. That will help you.”

   At night, the whole family was outside to watch Zeno leave. Whoosh! The spaceship lifted into the air. It was sad for Rahul to see Zeno leave but he kept strong as Zeno helped him a lot.

The very next day was an exam. He felt nervous about it as Zeno wasn’t there before this exam. He glanced at the paper and felt nervous. But he remembered what Zeno said. He started thinking about him and suddenly got a motivation.

   He easily completed the test and when the result came he saw that he only lost 1 mark in his whole test. He felt proud and happy to have a friend like Zeno.

Moral: When You are stuck at something, help can come from the unexpected.
