My trip to Dehradun was a delightful escape into the serene embrace of the Himalayas. We stayed at the comfortable Ramada by Wyndham, enjoying a relaxing base for our explorations.

The Journey to Dehradun

The journey itself was a picturesque, with the landscape gradually transforming from urban sprawl to lush green hills and winding roads. Upon arrival, the crisp, clean air immediately invigorated my senses, a welcoming change from the city’s hustle.

Exploring Robber’s Cave and finding peace at Mindrolling Monastery

I spent my days exploring the iconic Robber’s Cave, marveling at the unique geological formations and the cool stream flowing through it, and found tranquility amidst the vibrant Buddhist stupa of Mindrolling Monstery.

Tapkeshwar Temple: A Sacred Experience

 I also visited the sacred Tapkeshwar Temple, experiencing its unique setting within a cave where water continuously drips onto a Shiva lingam.

A Walk Through the Forest Research Institute (FRI)

A visit to the majestic Forest Research Institute (FRI) was also a highlight, where I admired its impressive colonical architecture and vast green campus.

Treats from Ellora’s Bakery

A highlight was my visit to the legendary Ellora’s Bakery where I indulged in their delicious Apple Pie, a rich Walnut Brownie, and a fragrant Cinnamon Danish.

Evenings with Garhwali Cuisine

The evenings were spent savoring other local delicacies, particularly the delectable Garhwali cuisine, and soaking in the peaceful ambiance of this charming valley city, leaving me refreshed and yearning for another visit.
