FireBorne I Poem by Aditi Niranjan Patil
Fireborn
From the altar of fire she rose,
A whisper of ash, a blaze in full glow,
Eyes like embers—calm yet wild,
A daughter of destiny, fire’s own child,
Mocked in the hall where the dice had rolled.
Surrounded by cowards with hearts grown cold,
She stood unbroken, though wronged and defied—
Her silence a storm, her patience tried,
When the cloth was stolen, her honor chained,
She summoned the divine, yet her fury remained,
She was no damsel carved out of fear.
No! She was the thunder that kingdoms would one day hear,
Her unbound hair shimmered with wrath held tight,
For the silence that strangled both honor and right,
Her fury moved deeper than wound or scar—
A vow that would echo in chariot and war,
Not just a woman of myth and song,
She is every voice that rises against wrong,
A name that echoes across centuries,
Draupadi—fire that time can never ease,
A force that fate can never seize.
