The Foolish Merchant I Story by Anagha, 8, Bangalore

The Foolish Merchant

Once upon a time, there lived a man named Chandra Kumar. He was a wealthy merchant.

When he went to the market, to sell fruits and vegetables, an old man came to him and said, ‘I will give you three sacks of gold coins if you give me your farmland, fruits and vegetables.’ The merchant agreed. He exchanged the things for three sacks with the stranger.

When he reached home, he opened the sacks. All he found was only rice. There was no gold at all. How foolish was he to accept such a deal from a stranger without checking.

Moral of the story: Be alert and never give way for fraudsters.
