The Hidden Gift
In a quaint village nestled among the hills, lived two inseparable friends, Rohan and Neha. Their bond was stronger than the mighty banyan tree under which they often played. One sunny afternoon, as they explored the nearby woods, Neha stumbled upon an exquisite necklace, gleaming in the undergrowth.
Overcome by temptation, she swiftly pocketed the necklace without informing Rohan. Little did she know, her innocent act of concealment would soon put their friendship to the test. As dusk approached, the two friends hurried back home, taking a shortcut through the dense forest. Suddenly, Neha’s foot caught in a gnarled root, and she tumbled down a steep slope. Rohan, horrified, rushed to her aid, but Neha had injured her ankle and couldn’t walk.
Dusk turned to night, and the forest grew eerier with every passing moment. Rohan knew they had to seek help, but he couldn’t leave Neha alone in her vulnerable state. It was then that Neha, overwhelmed by guilt, confessed about the necklace she had hidden. Rohan, without a moment’s hesitation, removed the necklace from her pocket and flung it aside. With renewed determination, he mustered all his strength and carried Neha on his back, trudging through the darkness until they reached safety.
