An avid young reader, 11-year-old Vivvaan from Bengaluru, vividly describes his admired bookstores – Sapna Book House and Funky Rainbow.

The books are staring at me from the shelf. Each one has a sense of warmth, and the shimmering glossy covers make my toes curl with excitement. I am at an indie bookstore with green literature! And I am about to dive right in.

I love the feel of flipping the pages of the bookworlds, so a bookstore, without a doubt, is my Narnia. I cannot delve into the details of the bookstores and do justice fully. But I am here to try. My bookshops of interest are Funky Rainbow and Sapna Book House.

In the VIBGYOR of literature, I think Funky Rainbow would stand for “Vivacious Indie Bookstore and Great Yonder Of Reading.” A shout out to the team who watches over this cheerful throng. There is always a deliriously delightful session.

Pottery, mandala, storytelling, and book launches are just some of the things I have been a participant in and was invited to speak there once! Their collection of recent reads and Indian literature landed them in the crown zone. I kickstarted the Taranauts at this bookshop!

Many people have heard of Sapna Book House – “jahaan pe kitab ke sapne sach hote hain!”

Did you know it is in the Limca Book House? With its vast collection, a few memorable reads that I collected were ‘Ikigai for teens’ and books from authors like Jeff Kinney, Ross Welford, Rick Riordan, and David Walliams. They also offer a wide range of philosophical reads that make it to my list of favorite bookstores.
