Women’s Rights : Set Free Our Caged Wings I Poem By Purabi, 16, Kolkata

Women’s rights : Set free our caged wings

Length of clothes always being pointed out,

Neither do we have the rights to shout!

“Sit like this”, “talk like this”

Judged upon if for a long time we are a ‘Miss’.

Who said women aren’t equal to men?

No such law has been written down with a pen!

We can work, we can dream!

We will not remain as tranquil as a woodland stream!

Periods, pregnancy, child infanticide,

Working after marriage stains our pride?

We are equal for the glory it brings,

Soar up high, to set free our ‘caged wings’!
