Who Am I ?
I am Sreekaree Dandamudi. To my parents, I am God’s gift- a blessing. To my grandparents, I am the epitome of perfection. To my little sister, I am a portal into the manifestation of her future. To a stranger, I am a typical teenager. But who am I to myself? I am a simple girl.
I care about my loved ones and yearn for their attention. I am more analytical than creative. I try to appear strong but I am a sensitive child. Though I want to be unapologetically myself, I am conscious of what people might think of me.
As a teenager, I feel inferior and insecure. I am scared of disappointing my loved ones and disappointing myself. At times, I can’t communicate with new people. When found at my worst, I can be stubborn and short-tempered. Ultimately, I am human. I am a combination of my strengths and weaknesses. Over the years, I have learnt: I may not be perfect but I am a considerate individual; I may not be a topper but I work hard in the hope of being one; I may not be a sportswoman, but I exercise consistently.
To me, all that matters is trying. 20 years down the line, I don’t want to regret not trying.
