Raavi, an 8-year-old from Bangalore, writes a story about how three best friends encountered a snake on their way back home after late playtime.
The Three Friends
Once there were three girls. One girl’s name was Tanya, the second girl’s name was Ria, and the third girl’s name was Sonya.
One day, they were in the park, playing on the slide and swing. Soon it became night, so everyone went home, but the three friends didn’t notice it was late. When they realized it was night, they quickly went home. On their way home, they saw a snake. They got very scared but kept walking until they safely reached their houses.
At home, they were eating dinner when one girl told her mother about the snake. Her mother replied, “You shouldn’t stay out so late. It’s not safe, and you need to be careful.” The girl realized her mistake and promised to be more mindful in the future.
The next day, the three friends met again. They discussed the incident with the snake and agreed to always go home early. They played for a while in the park, and when it started getting dark, they all went home safely.
Moral of the story: Be home early and stay safe.
