Title : The Garfield Movie – The Repeated and the Rehashed

Hey guys! I’m now reviewing “The Garfield Movie” made by Universal. The biggest surprise about this movie was that Chris Pratt, the voice of Mario in the 2023 movie, was going to voice Garfield.

I recently watched it on the big screen and enjoyed it. His voice fits the character pretty well. The movie is primarily a comedy and almost nothing else. There’s the usual sad flashback scene but they only show up occasionally, none are that emotional.

In this movie, they acknowledge Garfield’s origin in the beginning itself. Garfield is lazy. Odie, Garfield’s unpaid intern does all of Garfield’s work and Jon is kind of lonely due to a lack of human interaction and all the other character’s traits are explained within the first 15 minutes. The movie is about Garfield’s father Vic coming back to save Garfield from a vengeful ally turned enemy, Jinx. She forces them to steal milk from a farm which turns out to be a trap to get them sent to the pound. The rest of the movie sees Garfield rescue his dad and defeat the villain. It’s a basic plot but the movie’s humour is its saving grace.

The movie has a lot of moments where I chuckled or laughed. It’s a good movie but just don’t expect anything unique or out of the box.

Overall review: The movie is a funny and an okay-enough time if you want to watch something.
