The Englishman
Chaos
Ritu was running late for school. She was sitting in her car, waiting for the traffic light to turn green, when suddenly everyone started running here and there. Chaos erupted everywhere. People began screaming and scattering like confetti in a hurricane. Ritu was at sixes and sevens. In a snap, her driver abandoned the car and ran for his life.
Giant Monster

What she saw next made her jump out of her skin. A giant monster was on the road, crushing cars and people like tiny ants. Ritu was perplexed and had no idea what to do. Just like the others, she ran for her life. She gave it her all, but she fell in the middle of the road, wailing and crying in pain and terror. The big, fat monster was chasing her and almost caught her.
Suddenly, a superhero known as “The English Man” appeared on the scene.
He shouted vigorously, “Hey you! Fatty monster! How dare you trouble my people?” He gave him a threatening look and continued, “You better leave, or I’ll show you my special powers: reported speech, editing, and tenses!
The Question That Froze The Monster
If I throw just one reported speech question at you, you’ll beg for your life! Here’s the question for you, “I am the biggest and funniest-looking person alive on this earth”.
Then, he turned to the monster and said, “Here’s your first question: Is it true that you’re the biggest and funniest-looking creature alive on Earth?”
The monster froze, scratching his head in confusion, unable to answer. He stammered, then roared in frustration but remained silent.
I was utterly dazed. I had no idea what I was seeing.
Mother
Suddenly, I heard some background noise. It sounded like a woman screaming. And yes! It was a woman screaming indeed—and that woman was my mother. She was yelling resentfully, “Get up! You have your English exam today!”
Yep! You guessed it right! It was a nightmare. Strange, right? But it is standard before an exam night.
