The day my brunch fought back
It was recess when sat on my bench,
Ready with my washed hands to eat my brunch.
Upon opening my tiffin, I couldn’t help but gasp,
As my sandwiches flew out of my grasp.
They somersaulted and began to giggle,
“Eating us will be completely impossible.”
I jumped to catch and my friends began to titter,
Apparently, they couldn’t see that my sandwiches began to flutter.
Off, they flew from the corridor to the playground,
Spinning me in circles round and round.
The children gaped and their expressions were written on their face,
I ignored them; the most important thing was my chase.
While I was running, I began to wonder,
Was running like a cheetah in the corridors by me the biggest blunder?
My tiffin blew raspberries at me as I tried hard not to grimace,
As we were competing each other in a running race.
In the sandpit of the playground, my tiffin began to retreat;
As they were sandy now, how could I possibly eat?
To put an end to this, my sandwiches leaped and landed in the drain;
So, my entire chase was now in vain.
After entering the class, I leaned on my seat;
Glancing at my closed tiffin box, I opened it expecting nothing to eat.
But it was my turn to gape,
Inside, were my sandwiches in perfect shape!
“This must be a dream…” I started to think,
When my sandwiches smiled and gave me a wink!!!
