The Curse Of The Attic

It was Sunday, and Tom’s family had planned on cleaning the attic. It was one of the most boring things he considered, but he had no choice, so he and his family headed upstairs to start cleaning anyway. In one of the huge boxes, Tom found an enormous book with no title and had no idea he owned it. Curiosity took the best of him, and he opened the book. As soon as he did this, a bright glow shot out from the book, and a deep voice spoke.

My wish is your command.

You shall cross the deserts filled with sand.

On the way, you will kill monsters with this knife.

Go to the mountains and bring back the pearl of life.

Next to the box sat a sharp, curved knife. Suddenly, Tom lost control over his body and started moving without wanting to. He then grabbed the knife and ran out of the attic and the house toward the desert.

His parents tried chasing him, thinking he ran away to get away from work. But Tom was way too fast now and reached the desert in no time. He was going to encounter his first monster now. It was a giant Minotaur (half bull and half human) staring at Tom with its beady eyes. Tom easily tackled it and killed it with the sharp knife. He met many other monsters on his hike to the top of the mountain, but he defeated them all. Tom couldn’t believe he was doing all of this without having any control over himself. When he finally reached the top of the mountain, Tom spotted a round pearl, which he took and returned to the attic. He kept the pearl next to the book, and a few seconds later, the book started turning into a human! Tom also got back control over his body but felt exhausted. It turned out that the book was actually a wizard and had been cursed and trapped in the book by Tom’s ancestors. The only way the curse would lift was by the magical pearl of life. The wizard explained that he had controlled Tom’s body to get the pearl. The wizard helped Tom find his parents and erase their recent memory of their son running away from the house. The wizard was finally free.
