Chapter 1

It was a chilly afternoon. Ben had just come to Jimmy’s house to play. “What should we play today?” asked Jimmy to Ben. “I don’t feel like playing video games today, let’s go and play in the park,” said Ben, and Jimmy agreed.

So, the two went to the park. But the park was closed. They decided to go home, but Ben told Jimmy there was a shortcut. The two decided to take the shortcut. On the way, they came across an abandoned science lab.

Chapter 2

Jimmy was terrified; he wanted to run away as fast as his legs could carry him. But Ben stopped him and told him excitedly, “Let’s go inside.”

“Never,” said Jimmy. “I am not like you to do that.”

“Come on, we will be famous if we do,” said Ben.

After a lot of effort, Ben made Jimmy agree. So, the two went into the lab.

Chapter 3

The lab was very dark and scary, with a very old clock ticking. The friends walked slowly.

Ben said to Jimmy, “Watch your step,” and Jimmy replied, “Oooookkkyyyy,” in a scared voice but suddenly disappeared with a scream. Ben was traumatized; he looked down and saw a large hole.

He thought to himself that Jimmy must have fallen into that hole. Suddenly, the old clock ticked again. Ben got scared, slipped, and fell into the hole.

Chapter 4

Ben was blinded by the brightness but then looked around. Next to him was Jimmy, biting his nails. Suddenly, a group of creepy-looking guards took them to the so-called “King of Darkness.”

The boys were made to kneel in front of the king, who wore a skull mask. Ben did all the speaking while Jimmy just nodded.

Ben said, “Your Majesty, sorry that we did this. Please forgive us.”

The king replied, removing his mask to reveal a normal human face. “I will forgive you as I know how you feel,” said the king. “Before I became the king, my father used to make people suffer whoever came here, and I used to feel bad about this. You are free to go.”

Suddenly, both were in front of the lab. Ben and Jimmy were about to run away, but Ben heard someone saying, “Wake up, Ben, you are going to be late for school.”

Ben woke up. It was all just a dream. He looked up at his mom and smiled to himself.
