Nidhi Mishra Founder & CEO Bookosmia at Stanford Neurodiversity

Speaking at the Stanford Neurodiversity Project forum was an honour and a great boost towards #awareness of Not That Different our child-led #inclusion movement in India. Amidst a very engaged audience, I (Nidhi Mishra-Bookosmia Founder and CEO ) had the opportunity to talk about –
1) The premise that children & young adults are best suited to attitudinal shifts towards inclusion in my co-founder Mugdha Kalra’s moving message here

2) Our dedicated publishing imprint, mentored by award-winning author and co-founder Archana Mohan has published 6 books by #selfadvocates #parentadvocates till now. Prarthana Merchant, Aayushi Yadav, Pooja Saklani have leveraged their stunning illustration skills to  add to the visual appeals of these books while Aditi Sowmyanaran’s book Small Stories, Big Thoughts was illustrated by neurodiverse artists at the Ishanya India Foundation.  Aditi’s powerful message at her book launch never fails to move the listener

3) The role that our incredible partners Nayi Disha Prachi Deo Ishanya India Foundation Swathi Vellal Pratima Bhinge JinShiksha Shivani Dhillon play to make our annual Inclusion Fest a reality, bigger and better every year. Listen to this impactful message by Prachi Deo, Founder of Nayi Disha, a stellar organization that are lifelong partners of families with neurodiversity, on the need for our children to make friends who are different from them

4) Parents discussing the need to focus on strengths and parent advocate Shwetha Srivathsan’s beautiful podcast on how to go about it

5) The power of #sponsorship to nurture and celebrate talent of our young participants that we experienced thanks to India Autism Center and Indian toy brand Pep Play but also use of #csr  #fundings  #foundations  towards  #artforinclusion  events like CSR Adobe art auctions, compensating the #neurodiverse #artist and presenting to #nobellaureate Kailash Satyarthi.

Grateful to some amazing people who have supported us in this journey towards a brighter and more inclusive world for our children , Ferose V R of India Inclusion Foundation, Dr. Rekha of Down Syndrome Federation India, Monisha Hatkar of SMA-ART and Keya Fights SMA,  Dr. Swati Popat Vats of ECA APER Arpit Jain in our journey at Bookosmia- India’s No.1 publisher ‘for kids, by kids’
