Nature vs Technology

“Hey Sam,” said Kate. Kate and Sam were twins. Sam always asked for a new gadget, but Kate would ask for a potted plant to help the environment.

“Hey Kate, I liked your gift,” replied Sam.

“Sam, I thought you’d tell the truth. I saw you throwing the plant in the garbage bin.” That’s when the fight started.

“Well, to be honest, I did not like your gift. What am I supposed to do with a useless pot of mud?” said Sam.

“These plants are important! Without them, you wouldn’t be able to breathe or eat,” said Kate.

“But they help us and we help them,” said Sam.

“Wrong! We give trees and plants carbon dioxide. After we breathe out, the waste gas is CO₂. Trees use that CO₂ to make food through photosynthesis. In return, they give us oxygen to breathe,” Kate explained.

“Sam, don’t you understand? Plants are treated like helpers. Show them some respect,” said Kate.

Right at that moment, an earthquake struck. Sam was confused. He thought Kate had just made up the word earthquake — but it was real.

“This is nature’s angry version,” said Kate.

“Everything humans have needed to survive and thrive was provided by the natural world around us: food, water, medicine, materials for shelter, and even natural cycles like climate and nutrients all come from nature,” Kate explained.

“You’re right,” said Miss Brown, who had overheard the conversation. “We are all protected and governed by nature. A healthy environment provides nutrients that travel up the food chain — from plants to animals — to give us energy. By preserving nature, we ensure the planet and all its inhabitants have a constant supply of clean water and fresh air. But too often, we go against nature and climate change progress. as it effects environment ”

“But technology is important because it makes you feel more secure in every area of life, both personal and business-related. As technology advances, more people are able to access supplies such as fresh water and food, because technology helps deliver those items to people who otherwise couldn’t get them,” said Sam.

“Technology affects the way individuals communicate, learn, and think. It helps society and shapes how people interact with each other on a daily basis. Technology plays an important role in the world today. It has both positive and negative effects, and it impacts our daily lives.”

“Well, I think you’re both right in your own way,” said Miss Brown, smiling as she thought about what good debaters Sam and Kate were.
