My Friend “Lahar”
By Shivanshi Mishra
In the balcony of my home,
Lives Lahar, who doesn’t roam.
She’s not a boy or girl like me,
But a jasmine plant so full of glee!
We met not just yesterday,
She’s grown with me in her own way.
Her leaves are green, her flowers white,
They bloom and shine in morning light.
I named her Lahar, so soft and sweet,
She dances gently in the heat.
She never speaks, yet I can tell,
She knows my stories very well.
I water her when sun is high,
And wave to her when birds fly by.
She stands so still but feels so near,
A silent friend who’s always here.
When I feel sad or a little blue,
I go to Lahar she knows what to do.
With just her scent, so fresh and pure,
She makes my tiny heart feel sure.
She’s rooted firm, yet free in air,
With grace and charm beyond compare.
My jasmine friend, my leafy star,
I love you always, sweet Lahar!
