When Reading Turns Real

One evening, Janya and Abir were eating dinner with their mom and dad, talking about the book they had started reading recently. After dinner, they went to bed and started reading. They were reading in sync, and it sounded beautiful. As they reached the end of the story, they said, Oh! What a fun and extraordinary adventure, but they could not finish – they were transported into another world. “AAAHHHHHH!!” they screamed. “Where are we?” asked Abir. “I have absolutely no idea, but this is weird,” said Janya. A fairy flew up to them and asked them who they were and what they were doing here. “Umm … Miss..uh fairyyy, we just got transported here, could you tell us where we are and how do we get back to our world?” asked Abir.

Meeting the Fairy Ruby

“Hmm… let me see how I can help you. Would you tell me your names?” asked the fairy.

“I’m… I am J – J – J – Janya and this is my bro-brother Abir,” said Janya in a scared voice.

“Don’t worry, I’m just a fairy who will help you,” said the fairy.

“My name is Ruby. So… where are we?” asked Janya.

Journey to the Sorcerer’s Castle

“You have entered the land of mystique possibilities and we now need to go to sorcerer Xan to tell us how to get back,” said the fairy.

So they galloped on a unicorn to the castle of sorcerers. They had to wait in a long line to get to meet Xan.

The Mysterious Sorcerer Xan

When it was their turn they met Sir Xan who had the body of a mermaid and the head of a dragon with unicorn wings. This really freaked them out. Then Abir told Xan about them getting transported here and wanting to go back.

Xan thought for a moment and said, “Can you tell me what you were exactly doing before you came here?” So Abir said, “We were just reading a book and we were at the end… when we were transported here,” finished Janya.

“Hmm, and which book were you reading?” asked the sorcerer.

“The Enchanted Forest by Rebecca Smith,” replied Abir.

Xan waved his wand over the 2 kids and went into deep thinking.

The Two Magical Choices

Then he said, “I know two ways to get you back, one of them is to find the sacred stone of healing and second is to retell the sentence you last read before you got here.”

“We will do the second one,” said Abir.

“Alright!” said Xan and gave them a magical opportunity to come back to this place whenever they want by using the same sentence.

Back to Their Cozy Home

They bid goodbye to Xan and Ruby and said the magic sentence, “Oh! What a fun and extraordinary adventure”… And they were back in the cosy room of their home.
