Kerri Walsh : An ode to an Olympian I Poem By Rajvardhan and Veer, 10, Faridabad

Kerri Walsh :  An ode to an Olympian

She did not know,

That she was carrying a baby,

When she competed in the Olympics

It was her third child,

She was five weeks in pregnancy when she found out.

Kerri played beach volleyball

And won a gold,

When she was told “ You are pregnant” by her partner

It was a big twist

At the Olympics,

Despite this big surprise

She played until she won,

Her victory was a gold medal

Her triumph was a big win

Just not for her but her daughter as well,

She faced a plethora of challenges ,

Some were emotionally challenging,

Her struggle is what inspires the most

Above all her victories.
