I Am Free

I Am Free!!

By reading the title you might have thought about freedom , but this is not a tale coated with motivation , but a woven in horror !

Read this tale about a girl Riya , who loved horror stories and dolls more than anything  , but what she didn’t know that these both together would enter her house , & end up leaving her as a story heard by all!!!!!!!!!!!

Chapter 1: The Birthday Gift

Riya’s 13th birthday was meant to be perfect. Friends, balloons, and chocolate cake filled the room with laughter. But the gift from her aunt Meera made her uneasy.

Inside a carved wooden box lay a porcelain doll. Its cracked cheeks, pale skin, and sharp glassy blue eyes gave it a strange presence. Around its neck was a faded red ribbon, tied in a tight, almost unnatural knot.

“Take care of her. Never remove the ribbon,” her aunt whispered.

That night, Riya placed the doll on her study table. At midnight, a faint tap-tap-tap echoed. The doll’s head had turned to face her bed.

The next morning, it was on her pillow.

Chapter 2: The Whisper

The next few nights were worse. Books toppled off shelves, lights flickered, and faint giggles echoed through her room. Riya heard whispers, soft and childlike:

“Play with me…”

Objects moved on their own. Her younger brother admitted he saw the doll walking in the hallway. Riya’s parents dismissed it as imagination.

One evening, desperate, Riya picked up the doll and tried to leave it in the attic. But when she turned, it was back on her bed. Its glassy eyes seemed to follow her every move.

Chapter 3: The Ribbon

Remembering her aunt’s warning, Riya resisted touching the red ribbon. But the doll’s behaviour became aggressive. Its head turned unnaturally fast, its whispers became hissing words.

One night, terror took over. Riya pulled at the ribbon. The knot loosened. The ribbon fell, and a sharp crack ran across the doll’s porcelain face. From inside, came a rasping, wet breath.

“I’m free…” it whispered.

Lights exploded, shadows crawled along the walls, and Riya felt the air thicken. The doll moved toward her, faster than any human could.

Chapter 4: The Haunting

The house became a nightmare. Doors slammed, walls shook, and whispers filled every corner. Mirrors cracked spontaneously. At 3 a.m., Riya saw a second reflection in her bedroom mirror — herself on the bed, and behind her, a tall shadow holding the doll.

She screamed. Her parents tried to open the door, but it wouldn’t budge. The doll’s giggles echoed louder than ever.

Riya ran to the attic, thinking she could trap it there. But the moment she reached the attic stairs, the doll appeared at the top, eyes glowing red. It stepped down by itself.

Chapter 5: The Disappearance

By dawn, the house was eerily silent. The front door creaked open, and her parents rushed to her room.

Riya was gone. No trace. No scream. No sign of struggle.

All that remained was the doll — now inside a glass case on her study table. The red ribbon was back around its neck, tied perfectly. Its glassy eyes seemed to gleam with satisfaction.

Sometimes, her parents swore they heard faint giggles at night, or the tap-tap-tap of porcelain nails on wood.

Chapter 6 – The Story Left Miserable

Months later, her room remained untouched. The doll stayed in the glass case, silent. But those who passed by sometimes glimpsed a flicker of movement inside the glass — a tiny, terrified face trapped behind the porcelain.

Some nights, neighbours whispered, they could hear the giggle of a little girl… and the tap-tap-tap of a doll that should have stayed lifeless.

And somewhere, in the shadows, the ribbon waited… ready for the next hand that dared to remove it.

But this is not the end, read ‘ Welcome Back’, for the return of horrors.
