Greedy Old Man And The Wise Beggar

Once Upon a Time: A Greedy Old Man

Once upon a time, there was an old man who was very greedy. He was a rich businessman but never cooked food himself. One day, his neighbors were celebrating a festival. The old man, instead of preparing his own meals, waited outside their door, hoping they would give him some biryani and sweets for free.

The Hungry Beggar

While he stood there, a hungry beggar came by and asked the old man for some food. The greedy man refused and said, “There are yummy sweets in the neighbor’s house because of the festival.” Curious, the beggar asked, “What festival is it?” The old man replied, “It’s the lady’s death anniversary.”

The beggar went to the neighbor’s house, and to his surprise, they gave him lots of biryani and sweets. But before he could eat, the greedy old man stole all the food.

This continued for weeks. Every time the beggar got food, the old man would find a way to steal it.

A Wise Saint

One day, the beggar told the old man about a wise saint who lived in the hills. “He can solve all problems,” said the beggar. “People bring him many gifts, but he always rejects them. He only helps those with a pure heart.” The greedy old man became curious. He thought, “Maybe I can trick this saint into giving me something valuable!”
