Exam fever : Study tips from objects
“Ugh, how am I supposed to learn all these facts from history?” said Lily.
“I know you are frustrated, but memorizing is the only way. Maybe a nap can help.” Lily’s mom consoled her. With that, Lily and her mom went out of Lily’s study room. The door locked automatically from the inside and gave a signal.
Now all objects in the room came alive like they did when no humans were around.
Games Set – Poor Lily. She is struggling so hard to memorise facts for her social studies exam.
Book – That’s because she spent all her time playing with you till exam day.
Timetable – Her social exam is tomorrow and she has 7 more chapters to study, no wonder she is struggling this hard.
Study Table – She should have completed her subjects before the exam date and only needed revision today.
Pencil Box – She should practice mock tests and written notes instead of just reading.
Phone – Then we should convey some tips to Lily. But we must not divulge our secret in this manner.
Pen – I’ll write all the motivational messages in her mother’s handwriting on sticky notes.
The alarm clock set a timer and all the others began to fetch the necessary supplies and ran errands while the pen began its work. One of the quotes was
“You Were Born To Win. But To Be A Winner, You Must Plan To Win, Prepare To Win And Expect To Win.”
“Let’s see the result on Lily,” the pen said.
Within a few minutes, the alarm clock rang and the objects went lifeless. It was the same sound which woke Lily and made her rush into the study room. She was quite surprised to see several sticky notes stuck on her cupboard. She read the exam tips aloud.
- Write notes and hints from every chapter
- Make mnemonics
- Maintain a schedule
- Don’t read blindly but study diligently
- Revise daily
- Take some breaks
- Conduct mock tests on your own
- Prioritise your work
- Take proper sleep.
Lily’s mother came to her daughter’s study room after hearing her say something aloud. Lily, overjoyed by seeing her mom, hugged and thanked her for giving her tips in a useful manner paying no heed to her mother’s bemused protests. Using these tips, Lily began to study diligently and overcame her exam fear and thus she passed her exams with flying colors.
Lily embraced her mistake and promised that she would not faff around thereafter.
Lily’s study room friends were pleased with their work. With the help of her friends, Lily subjugated her exam fever.
Procrastination is the enemy of success. Just do it today. All the very best for your exams. Break a leg!
