English: A Beautiful Confusion
The language we speak the most,
As common as butter on toast.
But do we take a moment to think,
The fallacies and policies that act as these letter’s link.
Silent letters and I’s before e,
The language is different from what we merely see.
And you must have surely heard of,
The nuances that make this language so tough.
With stolen words from a plethora of languages,
Methinks the language was impacted by the war with the baronages.
Plurals don’t make sense as well,
But if you disagree, my friend, pray tell.
Conditionals be damned,
There’s way too much to be crammed.
Moose doesn’t become meese,
But goose becomes geese.
While man turns into men,
Ban doesn’t turn into ben.
It just doesn’t make sense, at all,
It honestly makes me bawl.
Well, that’s all I have for today,
See you next time and have a happy day!
