What are Cyber Scams?

The word cyber scam is a scam which happens on online websites mostly happening with old people and young children in one’s family. Cyber scams can also be called as online scams. These scams are fraudulent activities carried out via internet using methods like emails, websites or social media.

For example:

There was a scamming case happened with a famous and reputed bank from U.S.A. which had its branches all over in India. Rupees One-Thousand crore+ were scammed from this bank in 2021 due to which the branches of this bank were shut down permanently from India.

How to avoid Cyber Scams?

(A) Do not open any strange link sent by strangers as if you click on the link the hackers can enter your bank accounts and device to steal all your personal details and money from your device and accounts linked with banks.

 

(B) Do not give ant OTP(s) to strangers as the through the OTP(s) scammers and hackers can enter your device and accounts to steal information.

 

(C) The government has set up helplines to assist people. You can contact one of them.

 

(D) If you are scammed by someone, immediately contact the cybercrime number, i.e., 1930 so that they can you with solutions to stop the scam.

(E) Install security apps in your device like Quick Heal so that it can scan and remove viruses from your device which are sent by hackers in your devices.

(F) Always change your security passwords of your bank accounts and Gmail accounts once in 2-3 months.

 

(E) Be aware and help people become aware from these scams to protect yourself and your family, friends, relatives from scams.
