Book Review : Rick Riordan’s ‘The Son of Neptune’

I had already read the Percy Jackson series when I laid my hands on ‘The son of Neptune’. This is the second sequel of the ‘Heroes of Olympus’ series written by Rick Riordan.

The book cover is thrilling and interesting. This story is set in 2011. Percy Jackson disappears from Camp Half-Blood for about eight months. He is found by two Roman demigods who take him to Camp Jupiter. There, Frank Zhang and Hazel Levesque became friends with Percy. They are offered a quest to rescue the god of death. What happens next? Will they succeed in this quest or will evil forces wear them down? Do read to know what happens.

Among all characters, I like Percy the most. He is the lead hero who is the son of Poseidon/Neptune. He has many abilities; he has a celestial bronze sword ‘riptide’ which can even turn into a ballpoint pen.

According to me, anyone who is above 11 can read and enjoy this book but I highly recommend that you should first read the previous series ‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians’ and the first sequel ‘The lost hero’ before you read this one.

I would like to give this book 5 out of 5 stars.
