An Alien Invasion
One Sunday evening, my friends and I were playing Thief-Police as usual. I noticed something in the sky while running to A-Block with one of my friends. At first, I thought I was hallucinating, but that was not the case,as even my best friend saw it. I’m not even sure how I can describe it. It was yellowish with a tint of red.
We didn’t mind it much until half an hour later, we still saw it roaming around our apartment. Even my best friends, Kavya and Nitika, have seen it. We got suspicious: what is this thing flying around in the sky? That is when one of my friends thought it was a spaceship. We all started freaking out. But Kavya and I followed it as we were sure it was not a spaceship. We followed it for about 5 minutes until it landed on the roof of our building. We all rushed to the terrace. When we reached there, the door was locked. Of course, we couldn’t enter it. We went down. We were sad as we couldn’t figure out what it was.
We sat in the badminton court, thinking what it could be.
I thought, “It could be a balloon.” but Kavy said ‘’No, it was not round.” and Nitika said, “And if it were a balloon, it would have popped by now.” I thought and thought, and that is when I remembered that it was glowing, that it was when Kavya spotted it again, and it was still glowing. But after following it for some time, we noticed it was not glowing and moving down. It soon reached near the ground.
Guess what it was? It was a red lantern. The yellow glowing colour saw was the light. I just remembered that today was Diwali’s last day when many people release lanterns into the sky.
