A Letter to Mr. Spitfire
Hello, Mr. Super Marine Spitfire.
I hope you are doing well after your retirement in 1961. I am an F-35 Lightning, a current-generation fighter jet.
Since 1961, technology has advanced. Nobody has forgotten you and your service during World War II. Even LEGO has made a spitfire miniature, and you are a favourite of many kids. We often read about you, the Super Marine Spitfire, a British single-seat fighter aircraft used by the Royal Air Force and other countries before, during, and after World War II. There have been many movies made on spitfire aircraft, like “The Battle of Britain (1969)”.
I am the most recent generation of fighter planes. I specialise in short take offs and vertical landings. I use a lift fan behind the cockpit. A door above the fan opens, and the fan is connected to the engine. The fan forces air downward, pushing the plane upward. It was made by “The Lockheed Martin Corporation,” an American aerospace company. I am a fifth-generation fighter.
The technology is growing each day, and artificial intelligence (AI) is taking over. Soon, there will be fewer human-operated aircraft. Many more advanced fighter aircraft generations are yet to come.
I am grateful to share my thoughts and proud history with a legend like you.
Have a great time!
Your Follower,
F-35 Lighting
